Is this site geared for that?
I want to write some form of book, maybe not even 30 pages. And try to sell it online.

For the last two weeks, the topic for my "Reading and Writing" class in a local university was "career". We read three articles in the textbook - and we ended up with a lengthy discussion about my students' interests and where they think they are heading to.
We discussed reasons why people would work, and what would be my students' personal reasons. Some of their answers got me to think about myself. Like most people, I work for money - but not for a lot of money, just enough to sustain my life…

Searching top article sites might be useful while writing a topic or post. Searching Google or many other search engines yields millions of results and takes lot of time to get what we really want.
Focused search engine specific to searching article sites can come in handy in this situation. Here is a site I came across that searches top article sites. This is great site while searching for a topic or spefici article. Though limitaion is the specific 30 sites it searches, we get more clarified…

Had my weekly meeting with the novel editor today. We talked about the implications of a couple of scenes - implications that I'd given thought to but not as much as she was pushing me about. It was over the placement of picture frames in the scene and as I talked to her about it, I realized that maybe I hadn't thought the moment out as much as I already had. She likes what we were talking about, but I think we both know there are going to be changes.
I thought I'd ramble a bit tonight about th…

I've been ignoring my chances to start writing here. I don't know why, other than I, like most writers, can be, at times, incurably lazy. (How was that for over-excessive uses of commas?) But, as I am bound and determined to write in this thing regularly and do it about writing, I figured tonight is as good a night as any to start. There's a million cliched ways to say that ... I think I'll just dive into the pool and get off on the right foot and just start walking ...
Hey, stop preparing to t…

The first in my writing about writing posts, I've made updates to my website.
I write fanfiction and it's something I am very proud of. Fanfiction is, to me, one of the most important writing tools out there. When we're given a character to work with but must come up with something original - that's more difficult than creating something original and believable. Fanfiction is a chance to play with style and technique and it's a chance to see how research plays out.
My website can be accessed h…

I'm here, on another new networking site. Didn't I swear off of these after I decided that facebook was enough? This is different though. Why? It just feels different. Maybe because I've been searching for a place to post about writing because I was feeling that livejournal wasn't enough anymore. I wanted to expand a blog to my webpage but didn't know how. Well, this seems to fit what I'm contemplating. So, here goes. I'm starting. As with all things in life, it's an experiment. Some work, many…

Why Write an eBook?
It's not true that everything that has been said has already been written.
The fact is that this is the perfect time to write a book. What the publishing industry needs are people who can tap into the world as it is today - innovative thinkers with new and fresh ideas, who can make the leap in

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a
form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is
between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion
rate.
This is because not everyone who fills out your form
will actually become your customer. However, whether your
site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the
visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will
measure the success or failure of your webs…

Unfortunately we seem to be the target of spammers, who've just discovered that this network exists.
I'll try to stay on top of it; I've just cleared out a lot of rubbish...
The glories of the Web. :-)

I believe that I've been stung by the blogging bee and now I am sorely afflicted with blogitis.
With three other blogs, a weekly newspaper column, guest blogging at Better Living Today plus miscellaneous other writing responsibilities, you would think there is no room in my life or time in my days for another blog. But I can't seem to resist the urge to plant myself and my writing wherever other writers gather.
I feel at home here with my blogitis an all and I look forward…

Read the inspiring
"Girl Power" story on Fast Company:
Ashley is evidence of the meritocracy on the Internet that allows even companies run by neophyte entrepreneurs to compete, regardless of funding, location, size, or experience--and she's a reminder that ingenuity is ageless. She has taken in more than $1 million, thanks to a now-familiar Web-friendly business model. Her MySpace page layouts are a… Continue

I wrote this a couple of months ago, but it seemed timely to resurrect it now that I've joined a new network. It took me a long time to catch on to social communities. Even though I was quick to see the possibilities of bookmarking, I didn't think the community aspect would be so much fun.
I'm not talking about MySpace - I'm talking about communities that are made for bloggers.
These are communities that showcase your posts and your bl…

Are you a Web writer? If so, you know that as profitable as Web writing is, there are definite challenges.
These include:*
Becoming known as a competent Web writer so that clients come to you, and you don't have to hunt for them;
*
Educating your clients about the Web writing process - about search engines, Web pages, how Web is different from print, "Web 2.0" and its benefits;
*
Educating your clients about your fees. Many (most)…
